Chapter 7 - A Letter from Narration

Dear Reader;

At this point it is possible to make assumptions about the characters in our story. It is possible to see beyond the veil that is written and piece together the pieces that have been tossed about the ground. The puzzle seems to be slowly putting itself into place but then an odd piece pulls itself to light and we can not make heads or tails of it. The color of this piece does not fit with the picture on the box, but I tell you this small piece does not come from a different puzzle.

That small piece will have you wondering and wondering, while yet all the other pieces slowly fit themselves together and the picture is slowly revealed. However you will also notice that the image on the box is not exactly the puzzle you are piecing together. Something is not quite right, yet you are unsure what it is. As time passes you now think you know exactly where that odd piece from before was meant to go, yet there is something wrong again. The piece is now to big, you had added to many things together and that one instant of time now doesn't fit within the context of things.

Something has gone wrong, yes? No, nothing has gone wrong at all. You have done exactly what you were supposed to do; you read and put your puzzle together as best you could with what you were given. It is not your fault that something is missing now, as there are not even any pieces left. There is only this small hole and a piece that doesn't quite fit. You will, of course, decide to move on and say you are finished with your quest despite knowing this to be a lie.

Now, Dear Reader, what does any of this have to do with the story you are reading? Well, it would not be included if not somehow important. This is a warning, to tell you that whatever you may think you feel for those within Novella is not the feeling you should be having. Whatever it is you think you feel or think you know, you should understand that our world of Novella is not like your own. Yes, you may know of our predicament in not being able to speak our mind in tune with our tongues but there is something else which you may have forgotten or disregarded for something else.

Dear Reader, forget what you think is happening with Mr. Nothing and his brooding or Samantha far off in her turmoil. Forget the sorrow of the world and forget the small tragedies that have happened. Despite what happens in the end of things, this is a happy story. This is a story about being true to yourself and a story about breaking universal rules. Please, Dear Reader, do not forget the question you now have running within your brain. That question will help you deal with the events that will eventually pass. This is the puzzle piece that doesn't seem to fit.

Sincerely;
Mr. Grateful
Curve ball! I know what I'm doing and where I'm going with this, but do you?

So anyone who didn't read the Preamble might be going "Uh... who is this?" That's shame on you for not reading the whole book, you should know better than that! Start from the beginning-beginning not the Chapter beginning.

Cool, I've been reading some Dostoevsky short stories lately, and he likes to do "Dear Reader" paragraphs a lot, and say "I know what you're thinking now, reader" and stuff like that. So....you're on the right track for immortal literature!
